New York Safe Boating Course

NSA Saratoga Springs MWR Community Recreation is hosting a New York safe boating course on Saturday, June 18 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Liberty Center inside the classroom. This course is open to all military ID card holders age 10 and older at the start of the class. The course is eight hours long and passing of an exam is required. The cost to participate is $10 for adults age 18 and older and free for children age 10 to 17. A check can be made out to NYS Parks after the completion of the course. This class is limited to 30 students. Registration is strongly recommended. Walk-ins are welcome if space allows.

Who needs a boating safety certificate today?

All operators of motorized vessels, regardless of age, will need a boating safety certificate by January 1, 2025. If born on or after January 1, 1988 you will need a boating safety certificate beginning in 2022.
